How to solve chess puzzles

1. Look at every check, capture and threat for both sides before moving.
2. Calculate the whole line in your head — what is your opponent’s best reply?
3. Prefer forcing moves: they limit your opponent’s choices.
4. If you miss it, replay the solution and ask which pattern you did not see.
